When you start a rent roll from scratch, you’re starting from zero

Zero database

Zero cashflow

Zero landlords

Zero tenants

Just Zero!

So it really feels like you need to generate new business from NOTHING!

I understand this feeling, because when I started my rent roll, I also had nothing.  I was new to the area, didn’t know anyone and I had to find a way to get new clients.

So I started thinking about how I could get new clients…

Who has access to my clients BEFORE they become my landlords?

That’s where I realized that there were other professionals in my location who might have access to landlords who need a Property Manager.  Professionals like:

Mortgage Brokers

Conveyancers

Solicitors

Accountants

Financial Planners

Tradespeople

So, I set about finding ways to form relationships with these professionals.  And over time I actually created a simple one-page blueprint for referral marketing outlining how to leverage these relationships to get more leads from them, and help them grow their businesses in return!  If you’d like to access this blueprint for referral marketing click here

In fact, I used this blueprint as my main method of growing my rent roll.  It was simple, easy and fun to implement.

As time has gone on, I’ve found other ways to generate leads from nothing.  And the internet has played a big part in this process!

When I started my current business, I harnessed the power of social media to target ads at my ideal client, and attract them into my business (a technique that works really well, and I’ll share more about that later!), but I still use my original blueprint for referral marketing every single week to keep strong leads coming in and surrounded by a network of other business owners.
